A delegation from the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI), led by President Sharanabasappa M. Pappa and Honorary Secretary Shivraj V. Inginshetty, met with Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development Minister M.B. Patil in Kalaburagi.
The delegation submitted a memorandum urging the state government to accelerate the operationalization of the PM MITRA Mega Textile Park by expediting key infrastructure, utility connections, and administrative clearances. Additionally, KKCCI advocated for government intervention to revive and modernize the long-defunct GE Heavy Engineering Plant at Shahabad into a manufacturing hub for aerospace, defense, energy, and advanced engineering.
While acknowledging ongoing government efforts—including infrastructure funding and review meetings led by District In-Charge Minister Priyank Kharge—the Chamber highlighted that both projects are vital for driving investment, strengthening MSMEs, generating thousands of jobs, and supporting regional decentralization under the “Build Beyond Bengaluru” initiative.
